Kelli

Kelli Mayo is an American musician, actor, artist, and performer. In 2009 her and her sister cofounded Skating Polly a band whose music they categorize as Ugly Pop. She chose this genre name because she strongly believes in incorporating opposing forces in art. The harsh always making room for the light, the clean for the messy, and the pretty always making room for the gnarly. Mayo is known for being a very intense, energetic, and active performer. She's a self taught musician who sings, plays a 3-string "bassitar" of her own tuning, bass, guitar, drums, piano, ukulele, Kelstone, and anything else she can get her hands on. Mayo has written and recorded 6 records with Skating Polly as well as an EP with her mentor Exene Cervenka. She draws, paints, and collages as well. Often designing the merchandise and artwork for her band including hand made one-of-a-kind embroidered clothing.

Sloane

Sloane Lenz is a Texas born now LA based musician, designer, and writer. She's one half of dollar store trash-glam punk band Lord Friday the 13th who she founded with her brother (Felix Lenz) in 2019. In her childhood and teenage years her main focus was design and visual arts, creating avant-garde clothing collections for the runway and editorial work all through her 20's. She made stagewear for many touring bands, and was named "the modern Betsey Johnson" after her runway presentation at Houston Fashion Week. In 2019 her focus shifted to writing and music, though word play and graphic turns of phrase were always largely incorporated in her clothing designs. She's been published online and in several print publications including the last 2 issues of Girls Our Age, curated by Margaret Bechtold.

Felix

Felix Lenz is a performer and visual artist from Texas who now calls Los Angeles home. For the past 7 years, much of his time and energy has been directed towards writing, recording, styling, and touring with the band he and his sister dreamt up, Lord Friday the 13th. LF13 has come to be known for their over-the-top energetic live shows as well as their witty, satirical, and oftentimes absurdly direct lyrics. Felix and his sister Sloane were raised unconventionally with a mostly homeschooled education and have backgrounds in theatre and visual arts, and they enjoy creating worlds together. Felix’s visual works have a similar energy to his band, often involving darker themes with a graphic “in your face” attitude and span from hand drawn graphics/posters, to larger paintings, all the way to 2d animation. Over the years, his work has been featured in gallery shows across Texas and will continue to grow and change much like he will.

Henry

Henry Mortensen, is a writer, actor, film-maker, and martial artist. He works as an editor at Perceval Press, a small publishing company based in Santa Monica, making books and records. You can occasionally find Henry reading poetry and performing storytelling in the Los Angeles area. He has filmed and directed several music videos and a music documentary, "Skating Polly: Ugly Pop". His acting can be seen in the films "Falling", "Greatest Beer Run Ever", "Night of the Bastard", and "Blue Tiger". He also practices and teaches Kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do, and Filipino Martial Arts.

Amber

Amber Bighorse is a songwriter and vocalist for the band Kills Across the River. Kills Across the River is the English translation for Amber’s Cheyenne name, a name given to her and shared by her Nishget (Grandmother.) Amber is a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, where she previously served as the Tribes’ Lieutenant Governor. Today, she continues to serve tribal communities and families in and around Washington state as a family law attorney. Amber’s writing is deeply rooted in personal experience, exploring memory, love, loss, identity, and the complicated ways people shape one another’s lives. Although better known for writing music and lyrics, this marks her first public reading of her original poetry.

Jenny O.

Jenny O. is a singer-songwriter living in Los Angeles, CA and Spectra is her most recent album. Music by Jenny O. can be heard in television shows Orange Is The New Black, Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless, The Sims video game, and more. Jenny O. has recently opened for Violent Femmes, Jenny Lewis, and Old 97’s. Her forthcoming, fifth studio album is a solarpunk concept album—pop music for a just transition to renewable energy.

Jill Emery

Jill Emery is a self-taught artist/musician from California, where she started playing bass in her teens in LA punk bands, eventually becoming part of Super Heroines, Hole, Mazzy Star and others. While she enjoyed the collective creativity of bands, she found visual art to be a great solitary creative outlet. As a folk expressionist, she explores themes of life, death, spirit, favorite bands/people, and giving a voice to animals. Jill says her process through imagination keeps her laughing and gives life to many of her pieces. She’s had art shows in the USA and Europe. Her art is also featured on records such as Hole’s Pretty on the Inside.

Nina Nastasia

Nina Nastasia’s rare gift of a voice is an intimate, winged presence that is able to either freeze or melt your heart; that can powerfully soar and twist, or brush ultra-gently against you, suddenly summoning goose bumps. Mojo commented on its ability to “suck the air out of the room”. Picking over themes of love, longing and loss, childhood, dreams and human dramas, her beautifully concise, hook-laden songwriting and the spare arrangements of her band have a certain gritty, rustic charm and intensity. Simultaneously tough and fragile, her songs crackle and smolder with an intimate emotional honesty and a dark undertow.

Exene Cervenka

Exene Cervenka is a singer, song writer, visual artist, and poet. She is the singer and co-founder of the pioneering punk rock band X, one of the most influential punk rock bands to emerge from Los Angeles. Exene’s strong artistic drive has drawn her to a wide range of creative projects. Adulterers Anonymous, the first of four books of poetry written with singer/poet Lydia Lunch, was published in 1982. Her art has been shown in the Santa Monica Museum of Art, DCKT Contemporary in New York and elsewhere. In 1989, Cervenka recorded Old Wives’ Tales, the first of six solo albums she would put out by 2011.
